Case Study 4 – Fortune 1000 Equipment Manufacturer Leadership Development

A Fortune 1000 equipment manufacturer  that required development of their mid-level supervisors in a narrow timeframe.

The challenge:

Our client identified that their leaders were failing to give employees effective coaching. This resulted in a lack of employee development and poor performance.

The solution:

Five Star implemented a customized version of the Leading the High Performance Workforce™ program for this client. The program focused on behavioral change training that gave leaders unique skills directly linked to developing a more effective workforce. The following tools were developed, and the following components were implemented:

  • Leadership 360 Surveys to assess frontline managers
  • Workshops that account for survey feedback by helping frontline managers develop a personal vision linking directly to the vision of the company
  • Video scenarios portraying practice coaching simulations that reflect current organizational challenges
  • Refresher training for senior executives
  • A full course for frontline supervisors in which VPs and executives act as coaches

Results:

Leading the High Performance Workforce™ resulted in frontline managers using performance tools and confronting problems in the workforce head-on. Ongoing discussions about developing and maintaining personal visions were set. Post-training surveys will be sent out to measure the training’s impact in action.
