Case Study 5 – C-Store eLearning Templates

One of the fastest growing, family-owned convenience stores in the nation, with more than $4B in sales, 350+ locations across six states, and 12,000+ employees launches an eLearning Template system.

The challenge:

Our client had a variety of educational needs to support their dynamic growth, beginning with hiring the best work for their business. Other learning needs included creating made-to-order food, managing cash and fuel, and the End-of-Day (EOD) business process.

The solution:

Five Star developed a series of eLearning templates that enabled our client’s internal training team to quickly develop effective eLearning courseware. Five Star also delivered a two-day instructional design and project management workshop to the training team to establish design and development best practices.

Results:

Our client has developed nearly 200 hundred courses internally using the templates Five Star designed, resulting in a six figure savings compared to outsourced development. Five Star provides design and development support when the training team reaches capacity. In that regard, Five Star developed:

• Web-based training for topics such as how to make specific sandwiches, performance management, fuel management, cash management, and the EOD business process.
• Online quizzes to test and verify the learner’s knowledge and comprehension.
• An online pre-hire analysis tool for prospective employees to rate their interest in the real work that will occur if employed.
• Performance support tools such as job aids, posters, and quick reference guides for on-the-job needs.
