Under the supervision of the West Central Job Partnership, manufacturers in a five-county Ohio and Pennsylvania Region formed the Oh-Penn Manufacturing Collaborative to address the challenge of not having a qualified, available workforce, particularly in advanced manufacturing. One of their key goals was to identify the specific needs of the current workforce through use of a skill gap analysis involving both employers and training providers.
Five Star helped the West Central Job Partnership (WCJP) to design, develop, and train users on a data tracking system for the Oh-Penn Manufacturing Collaborative project. The objectives of the data tracking system project include:
- Ensuring that the training providers and workforce investment boards are entering data into the system in a way that will eliminate the need for manual effort and errors that occur with the spreadsheet template
- Enabling WCJP site administrators to quickly sort and view the information in the system by organization and/or program
- Enabling the organizations and administrators to quickly modify previous quarter data and regenerate the report based off of the new data entered
The result is an online tool that provides training providers, workforce investment boards, grant administrators, and the third-party evaluator with an easy-to-use, streamlined process for data collection and reporting.
