FIVESTAR* + BLAST FURNACE PRESENT

Pathways to an MVP

Thanks for attending!

Below you'll find a handy list of links that you can bookmark and access at any time to help you when creating an MVP. If you have any additional questions or would like to chat more with me, send an email to agindin@fivestardev.com. Thanks again for attending the event!

Recommended Project Management App: Basecamp

Basecamp is an easy-to-use project management app that enables your team to organize everything in one place and keep everyone on the same page, therefore, it can help you get your project off the ground more quickly. It also has an automated daily check-in feature that will enable you to have an electronic standup. Basecamp integrates with a lot of other apps that you may already be using, and you can try it out for free to make sure that it would be a good fit for your team.

Recommended Collaboration App: Slack

More than just a chat app, Slack enables true cross-team collaboration and communication with great experiences on both desktop and mobile. I recommend creating "channels" for each aspect of your project. You can post updates, files, documents and have conversations within that channel, and everyone on your team immediately knows that you're talking about #marketing, #product-launch, #sales, and so on.

Recommended Standup App: Standuply

As I discussed in the presentation, standups are an integral part of ensuring the success of a project. Communication between your team members must happen every single day. The daily standup consists of three very important questions for each member of your team: What did you do yesterday? What will you do today? Are there any impediments in your way? Standuply helps our team save time by automating the standup a few times a week.

The Agile Coach by Atlassian

As you learned in the presentation, Agile is an iterative approach to project management and software development that helps teams deliver value to their customers faster and with fewer headaches. Instead of betting everything on a "big bang" launch, an agile team delivers work in small, but consumable, increments. Atlassian is a company that has revolutionized the way that teams work with products like Jira and Trello. Click the link below to explore their wide variety of resources and learn even more about Agile.

The Agile Coach: What is a Kanban Board?

A kanban board is an agile project management tool designed to help visualize work. As I mentioned during the presentation, all of our project managers at fivestar* have physical kanban boards in their offices to help them track the projects they are managing. If you have a physical location that you and your team frequent, I definitely recommend making one for yourselves as well. There are few things more satisfying than seeing all of your "to-dos" in the "done" column!

A Step-by-Step Guide to Build an MVP

As an entrepreneur, you should take the risk to validate your idea. First, you must decide whether your concept is feasible or not; is it really going to help customers? Your solution lies in an MVP. It will not only help you in validating your idea but also allow you to understand your customers’ needs. MVP helps in testing, designing, and delivering the final product. MVP development plays an important role in web development and designing.

Building a Winning Product Strategy from the Kano Model

A must watch! The Kano model is a beautifully simple but often misunderstood model for mapping out customer satisfaction with various features of your product. In this video, Jared Spool walks through some wonderful (and entertaining) case studies to demonstrate the development of customer journey maps, the difference between “not sucky” and “delightful”, and the Kano model itself, which compares product investment to customer satisfaction.

Fivestar*s UI/UX Product Scorecard

Assessing the quality of your product’s user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) is challenging considering the numerous criteria, best practices, and the continuously changing design landscape. Our design team at Fivestar has created a scorecard based on four key principles that are measurable for any product, and touch on the essential qualities of a site that impact user engagement, satisfaction, and customer conversion.
