As fivestar*’s director of marketing, Marissa sets the overall strategy and direction* of the marketing team. She has over 10 years of experience leading marketing efforts and driving results across a diverse range industries and tactics. Marissa works closely with the marketing team to manage fivestar*’s brand and presence across all platforms and media. When she’s not coming up with innovative new marketing approaches, Marissa is an avid home DIYer and health and fitness enthusiast, always looking for ways to stay active or finding something around the house to improve.

What brought you to fivestar*?
I’ve been living and working in Buffalo for the past 10 years and while I loved the area, I wanted to come back to Pittsburgh, the place I call home. While I was looking for jobs, I stumbled across fivestar* and was immediately drawn to how the company presented itself. After I dug a little deeper, I was struck by the focus fivestar* puts on their employees and retaining them. I applied – and the rest is history!
What are you most excited to get started on?
Zoom Happy Hour
So far it’s been awesome to get to know everyone on the team and learn about all the projects fivestar* has in the works. I’m always excited to take on new projects. We’ve got a lot of the horizon for 2021 and I can’t wait to dive in.
What is your role as marketing director?
My role involves a little bit of everything, but primarily I’ll be overseeing the strategic direction of all things marketing at fivestar* from the website to the work we do for clients. I’ll also be providing leadership and guidance for the marketing team and will be working closely with them on all projects. We’ve got a huge project that we’ll be launching in early 2021 that I will be leading, but that’s all I can say at this time.
What are your hobbies?
One of the main reasons I moved back to Pittsburgh was to spend more time with my friends and family. Other than that, I’m a huge health and wellness enthusiast and an avid DIYer. I also love to travel. I have been to Japan, Italy, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic—just to name a few. Up next on my travel bucket list is the Amalfi Coast.

In high school, I was an All-state basketball player! This always surprises people.
