Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Stacey Chapman – I’m a Pittsburgh native, I’m 43, I have an 18 year old daughter. Right now, we’re waiting to hear about colleges which is super exciting. My family is also from Pittsburgh and lives pretty close, we’re still able to meet up for family dinners about once every week.
I started out my career in tech doing administrative work, I was an executive assistant, then a project administrator, then a project coordinator and finally project manager! I’ve always enjoyed helping people and getting involved in all aspects of a position, I’ve found that project manager puts me in the perfect position to do both of those things all while putting my team and our clients in the best position for success!

What brought you to fivestar*?
I was looking for a specific atmosphere. I had previously been at an IT & Mobile Development company. The atmosphere was high pressure and stressful, so I really needed a change of scenery. When I started looking around, I came across fivestar, and after looking into the company and culture and everything seemed perfect – throughout all my research I heard nothing but good things. I was looking for a change and fivestar* came up, I said a prayer, and here we are!

What are you most excited to get started on?
I’m super excited to learn more about the processes so I can master them and jump right in to projects. I’ve learned so much in all of my roles and I’m excited to see what new knowledge I can get my hands on in this one. Most of all I am excited to do work that’s in line with my personal goals and values by helping build technology that helps people.
Describe your role as a Project Manager
As a project manager I’m responsible for managing meetings with my team, clearing blockers, and ensuring that everything is going smoothly. I’ll be working directly with clients to keep things progressing and keep morale high within our team. I’m an advocate for servant leadership, so I’ll be focusing on making sure I’m doing everything I can for my team to enable their success.
What are your hobbies?
Outside of work I love doing cross-stitch and needlepoint. I also play a ton of video games (Assassin’s creed right now), have a wonderful dog, and love the outdoors!

What’s a unique fact about yourself?
I love this question! I have two answers that I think are both pretty good.
First – I’m a distant cousin of Michael Jackson.
Second – I’m a double organ transplant recipient, a kidney and pancreas in order to help me combat my Type I diabetes.
