According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 25% of new businesses make it to 15 years or more, so you can imagine how grateful we are to be entering our 25th year in 2022.

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, we want to take a moment to reflect and thank our team, clients, partners, and families for the support you provided us in 2021.  Like many organizations, we saw some of our team members move on to exciting new opportunities. Though sad to see them go, it has enabled us to welcome new team members and we have even expanded our team. Welcome Renee (HR); Augustus, Glenn, Kelly, Mark (Dev); Stacy, Steph (Design); Kelsey, Vince (PM); and interns Ethan, Lena, and Marjae! We now have team members working remotely from three states! We were recognized for the fifth time as a Best Places to Work in Pittsburgh and are appreciative to our team for all they accomplished in 2021!

With long standing clients we supported the delivery of K-5+ curriculum to virtual learners and teachers, learning and development plans and content to in-store associates, career pathways and educational opportunities for upskilling and reskilling, and prior learning assessment opportunities for adult learners. For new clients we supported an educational job matching platform, and technology consulting for franchise operations and healthcare training. With our long-term partner Extentia, we implemented Salesforce for ticketing systems and sales data. We are thankful to all our clients for your support!

2021 Presented us with great opportunities to support our communities.

With many in our community in great need, through our fivestar* Cares program, our team supported nonprofits including the Alzheimer’s Association, In-N-Out Burger Foundation, Light of Life Food Pantry, Pittsburgh Community Television, RedChair PGH, and Social Venture Partners Pittsburgh. Lou completed the International Anti-Racism Institutional Wireframe Cohort and was humbled to be recognized as the 2021 Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership Cross Sector Champion for Business. Thank you to everyone at fivestar* who dedicates their time, talent, and treasure in support of our community.

Our food drive for Light of Life was a huge success!

We're turning 25! We can finally rent a car.

As we enter 2022, we begin our 25th year with unbridled energy for developing innovative technology solutions across education, industry, and workforce. Along with supporting our clients, we will be piloting our own product to help organizations reimagine workflow skills evaluation and contextual learning. We will also be celebrating the silver anniversary of Cory Seaman, VP of Research and Technology Services. Cory’s impact on every aspect of our business is immeasurable. Along with his role as Chairman at fivestar*, Dave is focusing his time on his newest venture, Signature Diagnostics, which is changing the paradigm of healthcare intervention with early disease detection. Talk about impact!

Desmond Tutu said, “The fundamental law of human beings is interdependence. A person is a person through other persons.” We grateful for your support in 2021 and wish you the best for a happy and healthy New Year!
